Starting from 2010, the Space Research Institute holds annual international symposia on Solar system exploration. Main topics of these symposia include wide range of problems related to formation and evolution of Solar system, planetary systems of other stars; exploration of Solar system planets, their moons, small bodies; interplanetary environment, astrobiology problems. Experimental planetary studies, science instruments and preparation for space missions are also considered at these symposia.

The Seventeenth Moscow International Solar System Symposium (17M-S3) will be held from October 12 till 16, 2026.

The following main topics will be discussed during the symposium:

structure and dynamics, composition and chemistry, physical processes, planetary meteorology

external factors, surface charging, processes near the terminator and polar regions, plasma and dust in the lunar tail, consequences of magnetic anomalies

chemical composition and properties of the surface and samples, cratering, topography, volcanism, tectonics, physical processes on and in the near-subsurface, geological mapping, research techniques

internal structure, magnetic fields, seismicity, mascons, research methods

asteroids, Mars’ moons, comets, micrometeoroids, cosmic dust, celestial dynamics

analysis of extraterrestrial materials, laboratory and numerical simulation of space and planetary processes

detection methods, observational selection, exoplanet statistics, atmospheric modeling, science instruments

biosignatures, comparative planetology, habitable zones, searching for life, origin of life, extremophiles

space missions, new science instruments and experiments, space robotic systems

The meeting will be held both "face-to-face" and virtual. The Program Committee cordially asks you to make registration on the website ms2026.cosmos.ru with the selection of Face-to-face or Virtual form of participation (it can be changed later). Important: For colleagues from Moscow institutes, only Face-to-face participation is possible.

The working language of the symposium is English. This means the symposium will be held in English, and abstracts should be submitted in English.
